This Privacy Policy explains how KitchenStash ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our website kitchenstash.net (the "Site") or interact with our content on third-party platforms such as Pinterest. We take your privacy seriously and aim to be transparent about our data practices.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you provide directly

KitchenStash does not require accounts, logins, or form submissions to browse our content. If you choose to contact us by email, we receive the information you include in your message (email address, content, attachments).

1.2 Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, our hosting provider (Vercel Inc.) and analytics tools may automatically log:

• IP address (truncated or anonymized where possible)
• Browser type and version
• Operating system and device type
• Referring URL (e.g., the Pinterest pin that brought you here)
• Pages viewed and timestamp
• Approximate geographic region (country / city level)

This data is used for aggregate traffic analysis and security (e.g., blocking abusive requests). It is not used to personally identify individual visitors.

1.3 Cookies and similar technologies

KitchenStash uses minimal cookies:

• Essential cookies — required for the Site to function (e.g., preventing abuse). These cannot be disabled.
• Affiliate tracking cookies — when you click an outbound link to Amazon.com, Amazon sets its own cookies (not ours) to track whether a purchase resulted from our referral. We do not control these cookies; see Amazon's own Privacy Notice.
• Analytics cookies — we may use privacy-respecting aggregate analytics (such as server-side request logs). We do not currently use Google Analytics or other cross-site tracking tools.

2. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

• Operate and maintain the Site
• Measure aggregate traffic patterns (total visits, page popularity)
• Identify and prevent abuse, fraud, or technical issues
• Respond to inquiries you send us via email
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

3. Third-party services

KitchenStash integrates with or links to the following third parties. Their own privacy policies apply:

• Amazon.com, Inc. — outbound affiliate links. KitchenStash participates in the Amazon Associates Program. When you click a "Buy on Amazon" link, you are redirected to Amazon, which applies its own Privacy Notice.
• Pinterest Inc. — we publish content (pins) on Pinterest. If you view or interact with our pins on Pinterest, Pinterest's Privacy Policy applies. We may use the Pinterest API to publish pins from our own account but do not receive personal information about Pinterest users who view or save our pins.
• Vercel Inc. — our hosting provider. See Vercel Privacy Policy.

4. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your information on the following legal bases:

• Legitimate interests — operating and securing the Site, measuring aggregate traffic.
• Consent — where you voluntarily send us an email inquiry.

6. Data retention

Server logs are retained for up to 90 days for security and operational purposes, then deleted or anonymized. Email correspondence is retained as long as necessary to respond and for our business records (typically up to 24 months).

7. International data transfers

Our hosting infrastructure may transfer data to servers located outside the EEA/UK, including the United States. Where such transfers occur, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards offered by our service providers.

8. Children's privacy

KitchenStash is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect information, including HTTPS encryption for all traffic. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be highlighted on our homepage for at least 30 days.
